Book Review: Moving to Main Street, U.S.A.

A few weeks ago, I had a dream that Chris took a job in Orlando and I got to go to Disney World every day! Then, a few days ago, I came across an Instagram post from @themainstreetmouse , aka Michele Atwood, about her book, Moving to Main Street, U.S.A.: How We Left Our Home, Took the Kids, and Moved to the Doorstep of Walt Disney World.
Of course I had to read it!
As a reader/writer, I love to hear the back story of, well, pretty much everyone and even though a lot of the Disney social media people I follow give a lot of their current life, I always wonder what took them to Orlando. So this was definitely a good read for me!
While it was not the best piece of writing I have read this month, the story was compelling to a Disney social media fan like myself.

I loved the honesty in the story. As someone who has moved away from home, I found myself in tears as she described moving away from family and friends. Having been away for too many crises, I understand the guilt and worry she feels about living so far away from family and friends.
The chapter about her miscarriage in Orlando was another passage I could empathize with because of my infertility struggle.
One semi-surprising aspect of the story was that other Disney website owners attacked her and snubbed her at various times since the website opened. Every so often, as a Disney social media fanatic, I get a whiff of contention between the sites, but that has never been confirmed, until now. I find it deplorable that people whose job and "life's passion" it is to bring the magic to people at home would treat other Disney fans in that fashion. While she never names the sites, I do wish I knew which ones were less than kind to her, because I would prefer not to support their sites.
