Here is a quick overview of the announcements that affect Walt Disney World.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

Sunday, the Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be closing to make way for the FIRST Mickey themed attraction ever. When it reopens, it will be called Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.

Toy Story Land will open summer 2018!!!! I am super excited about this.

Star Wars Land is officially called Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and will open in the second half of 2019.

Epcot

Sunday, Mission Space will re-open and have new missions.

By the 50th anniversary in 2021, Epcot will have several new features. In the France pavilion, there will be an attraction based on the Ratatouille movie. In Future World, there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction and a Mission Space themed restaurant.

Magic Kingdom

Tomorrowland will welcome a new attraction based on the Tron movie. The attraction will be similar to the attraction in Shanghai Disneyland.

Main Street will get a new theater for Broadway style productions, similar to the Hyperion Theater in Disneyland.

Around the Resort

A new transportation system will launch in the Epcot/Hollywood Studios area. The official name is Skyliner, but it will be a gondola type system.

And they will be opening an immersive Star Wars hotel sometime after 2021. This has been big in the rumor mill for a few months, but it is still exciting!!!
