Coming up withe weekly favorites is so difficult, so I am going to follow the example of a lot of my favorite YouTube vloggers and make it a monthly series.

My Favorites series will include a lot of things...current beauty faves, household item faves, media faves, and so much more. So, let's get to it!

Beauty Favorites

NYX Pore Filler

I struggle with large pores on the apples of my cheeks, right next to my nose and a little bit on my chin. So, when I found the Pore Filler I was cautiously optimistic. I was really worried it would make me break out. I am happy to say it doesn't. And it really does reduce the appearance of my pores. I picked it up at Walgreens.

Jaclyn Hill Morphe Eyeshadow Pallette

I am a recovering Mary Kay addict and part of that is that I don't have anyone telling me what eyeshadow colors to wear anymore, which is both terrifying and exciting. When I saw this pallette being discussed, I was excited by the huge variety of shimmer and matte, cool and warm tones and some fun shades tossed in there. I really do love this pallette. The eyeshadows are very easy to work with and very pigmented.

This was one of my Christmas presents, but they got it at Ulta Beauty.

Makeup Tote

The light in my bathroom is atrocious and I don't have a vanity, though I am considering getting one eventually, so I do my makeup in the living room with the natural light and I was tired of using a thousand makeup bags, so I asked for one that I thought might be easy to pack for our travel and would also be big enough to contain the massive amount of products I have acquired. I got the small size.

This was also a Christmas gift, but my husband got it from Amazon.

Media Favorites

This was the last book I read in 2017 and it was an awesome way to end the year. The story was intriguing and fun. I didn't see the twist coming...maybe I should have, but I didn't catch on and let out a huge gasp and set my Kindle down to process.

This is a podcast from Panoply hosted by Jolenta Greenberg and Kristen Meinzer. They read and live by a self-help book for two weeks and share their experiences, thoughts and verdicts about the book. They come at it with humor and cynicism and a very deep sense of vulnerability.

Someone mentioned this album to me and I downloaded it and have been giving it a lot of time. I don't have any stand outs yet, because I love most of it. But, every time I listen to it, something different stands out to me. Check this one out.

I think I have mentioned this before, but this show just continues to get better. I think the quiet standout is Lance Barber who plays George, Sheldon's father. Zoe Perry and Annie Potts are definitely the lead figures of the show, but Lance Barber brings it in every scene he is in. I was not expecting to love Sheldon's father, but his love for his unconventional child is endearing.

A Real Christmas Tree

I have had an artificial Christmas tree since my cat Aja knocked a Christmas tree on my newborn baby brother 28 years ago. But this year, we really needed a new tree and neither of us wanted to buy a cheap artificial tree that we would hate in a few years, but feel like we needed to keep it until we felt we got our money out of it. And neither of us wanted to spend $300 on a nice artificial tree.

So we decided to go get a real tree...and we loved it! We loved the smell and the look and it wasn't as annoying as I expected it to be. And our cat Lexi did not bother it at all.

Well, that's it for this month! I'm looking forward to gathering some more for February!
