What do I love about The Resident?

As a die-hard Gilmore Girls fan, I do my best to follow the careers of my favorite actors from the show. One of those is, of course, Matt Czuchry.

When my cousin alerted me to the new show coming to Fox this winter, I was in. I had no idea what the show was about, but it features Matt Czuchry, so no questions asked, I was going to watch the show.

According to the show's website, THE RESIDENT is a powerful new medical drama focusing on the final years of a young doctor’s training that rips back the curtain to reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country.

A criticism first.

I love the intensity of Matt Czuchry's character, Conrad, but sometimes...its a little much and I can't tell if he is constipated, has forgotten the next line or trying for intensity.

What do I love?

I loved Grey's Anatomy for a few seasons. I liked ER for a while. But what I love about The Resident is that is a new take on the medical drama genre. Matt Czuchry's charactor, Conrad, and Emily Van Camp's character, Nic, lead the charge against the hospital's policies to charge the insurance companies for the most amount of money possible.

The cast of characters. From the money grabbing executives to the egotistical spiraling surgeon to the idealistic new resident, every character adds so much to the story.

The cast itself. This cast seems to have been cherry picked specifically for each role. The resumes of the actors include hits like The Good Wife, Revenge, Mad Men, Big Little Lies and Grey's Anatomy.

The setting. I love that this is set in Atlanta and I would love to see more of Atlanta in the show!

The writing.

Matt Czuchry. Obviously, I love that Matt Czuchry is the lead in this show. He is gorgeous and I love his voice.

In conclusion.

I will obviously be continuing to watch this show. It seems to have a good following, but sometimes Fox is trigger happy on the cancellation button, so I hope that doesn't happen.
